Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders with compassion and clinical precision
- Create individualized treatment plans that set meaningful, measurable goals
- Deliver evidence-based therapy and adjust interventions based on patient progress
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and families to support holistic patient care
- Document assessments, plans, and progress thoroughly and on time to support continuity of care
- Participate in discharge planning and provide caregiver education to maximize long-term outcomes
Qualifications
- Appropriate state licensure or eligibility to practice Speech-Language Pathology (California licensure required to provide care in CA)
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
- Experience in rehabilitation, acute care, or related settings is a plus
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to engage patients and families
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field (typical requirement)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven knowledge of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing assessments
- Familiarity with treatment approaches across adult and geriatric populations
- Skilled documentation practices and electronic medical record experience
- Comfortable collaborating in interdisciplinary teams and contributing to care plans
- Ability to adapt interventions for patients with complex medical needs
