Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Monitor residents condition and report any changes to nursing staff to help ensure timely interventions
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care delivered accurately and promptly in the resident record
• Create a warm, respectful environment by engaging residents in conversation and activities
• Assist with meal service, feeding, and ensuring hydration needs are met when required
• Follow infection control protocols and safety procedures to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• State GNA or CNA certification in good standing
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience working with geriatric or long term care residents is a plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with nursing teams
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Dependable, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to resident care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved GNA/CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with activities of daily living assistance and basic nursing tasks
• Knowledge of infection control and resident safety best practices
• Ability to follow care plans and accurately document observations
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Comfortable with lifting and physical aspects of caregiving using proper techniques
