Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM / 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM / 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM (10-hour day shifts). Call rotation: 1 on-call per 4-week schedule — weekday on-call from end of shift until 7:00 AM next morning; weekend call is 24 hours (7:00 AM - 7:00 AM) rotated between staff and travelers. Shift type: Day with on-call and rotating weekend coverage. Response time for call: 30 minutes.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist surgeons across a wide variety of procedures, including ENT (FESS), robotics (DaVinci Xi), transplants, orthopedics, neuro, cardiovascular, thoracic, general surgery and more
- Maintain strict sterile technique and set up sterile fields, instruments, implants and robotic equipment with precision
- Prepare and troubleshoot DaVinci Xi robotic systems for gynecologic, urologic and general cases
- Anticipate surgeon needs, pass instruments efficiently and contribute to smooth, timely case flow in a high-volume OR (50–65 cases/day across suites)
- Perform instrument counts, documentation and accurate charting (Cerner experience helpful)
- Assist with orientation activities and mentor new travelers or staff during onboarding
- Respond to call assignments within required response time (30 minutes) and support patient care during emergent situations
Qualifications
- Washington State surgical tech license required at time of submittal — no pending licenses accepted
- Registered with Washington State (CST registration) — national CST not required if state-registered
- Current BLS certification
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program
- Minimum 1 year of OR scrubbing experience (first-time travelers are welcome)
- DaVinci Xi (robotic surgery) experience required (Gyn, Uro, General)
- Comfort with complex and high-acuity cases across multiple service lines
- Able to meet call response expectations (30-minute response time) and work assigned rotations
Education
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program (state registration required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong sterile technique and scrubbing skills
- Hands-on experience with DaVinci Xi robotic systems and robotic instrument setup
- Familiarity with ENT procedures (FESS, septoplasty, cochlear implant, tympanoplasty, laryngoscopy, thyroid/parathyroid)
- Experience or familiarity with a broad mix of surgical specialties (GYN, Uro, Ortho, Neuro, Cardio, Thoracic, HPB, Bariatric, Transplant, Sports Med)
- Charting experience (Cerner preferred)
- Excellent teamwork, communication and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced OR environment
- Ability to follow protocols, perform accurate counts and maintain quality documentation
