Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients using age-specific data to build a full picture of physical and psychosocial status
• Perform ongoing patient monitoring, observation, and physical examinations with accurate documentation
• Interpret laboratory and test results and evaluate patient response to interventions
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning to help achieve the best possible outcomes
• Deliver patient teaching and discharge planning to support recovery and safe transitions
• Assist and mentor other staff as appropriate to ensure cohesive, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required (Nursys must show Active Illinois/IL license)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience (required)
• American Heart Association BLS — active (required)
• American Heart Association ACLS — active or obtained within 30 days of start (required)
• Completed skills checklist current to within 1 year and 2 supervisory references with dates employed (required)
• Candidates must provide permanent address (facility will NOT consider applicants within a 50-mile radius)
• Applicants who were direct employees of the facility within the last 2 years are not eligible

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care nursing and patient assessment skills
• Proficient with Cerner electronic medical record (EMR)
• Accurate, timely documentation and charting
• Ability to participate in multidisciplinary care planning and collaborate with teams
• Comfortable with laboratory/test interpretation and advanced monitoring
• Skilled in patient teaching and safe discharge planning
• Familiarity with emergency life support protocols (ACLS/BLS)
