Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient
• Implement and evaluate patient care using evidence-based Med Surg and telemetry practices
• Provide clinical leadership for the patient care team during your assigned shift
• Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner
• Mentor and supervise team members; complete supervisory tasks and references as required
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required (must be active in Nursys)
• 3+ years of Med Surg experience required
• Current American Heart Association BLS required
• ACLS (AHA) required within 30 days of start
• Work history and skills checklist current to 1 year, pertinent to Med Surg/Telemetry
• Two completed supervisory reference forms with dates employed listed
• Permanent address outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (facility restriction)
• Applicants who were direct employees within the last 2 years may not be eligible

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation skills
• Med Surg and telemetry clinical experience and comfort with telemetry monitoring
• Clinical leadership and supervisory experience
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR for documentation and charting
• Familiarity with ACLS and BLS protocols and emergency response
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills
