Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient status and develop individualized care plans to ensure safe, high-quality procedural care
• Prepare patients in the holding area: verify readiness, start IVs, administer meds, and complete pre-procedure checks
• Assist in the lab during invasive procedures by monitoring hemodynamics and providing circulating or scrubbing support as needed
• Respond rapidly to emergent situations and collaborate with physicians and anesthesia to stabilize patients
• Provide post-procedure monitoring, recovery support, and discharge education to patients and families
• Lead and coordinate the patient care team on your assigned shift, promoting continuity and safety
• Document care accurately and maintain up-to-date skills relevant to Cath Lab practice

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Cath Lab experience required
• Active Illinois RN license required (Nursys verification must show Active Illinois/IL license)
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification (required)
• Must provide permanent address outside the facility’s 50-mile exclusion radius (facility will not consider local candidates)
• Work history and an updated skills checklist (current to 1 year) pertinent to Cath Lab required
• Applicants who were direct employees within the last 2 years are not eligible

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and pre-/post-procedure preparation
• IV initiation and medication administration
• Hemodynamic monitoring and response to emergent events
• Circulating and scrubbing techniques in the Cath Lab
• Clinical leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR (experience preferred)
• Strong critical thinking, clear communication, and team collaboration
• Comfort working with robotics and advanced procedural equipment (experience a plus)
