Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hospital-based rounding and overnight coverage for cardiovascular surgery patients
• Perform endovascular and open vascular procedures including aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, femoral bypass and fistula surgery
• Manage complex reconstructions for deep vein occlusions and peripheral artery disease interventions
• Respond to nighttime and weekend surgical calls and provide timely operative and consultative care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesiology, critical care and nursing to optimize patient outcomes
• Document clinical care clearly and complete required administrative and credentialing paperwork
• Triage and manage vascular emergencies in a Level II trauma environment, prioritizing patient safety

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited vascular or cardiovascular surgery training program
• Board certified or board eligible in Vascular/Cardiovascular Surgery
• Active Pennsylvania medical license or ability to obtain licensure within the credentialing timeframe (credentialing typically 90-120 days)
• Proven experience in both endovascular and open vascular surgery and operating room practice
• Comfort with hospital-based rounding, overnight coverage and weekend call responsibilities
• BLS and ACLS certification; other certifications as required by facility
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Locum tenens or prior contract experience is a plus

Education

• MD or DO
• Completion of vascular or cardiovascular surgery fellowship

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in endovascular procedures and open vascular surgery
• Skilled in aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy and femoral bypass
• Experience with fistula management and complex venous reconstructions
• Familiarity with peripheral artery disease interventions and limb salvage techniques
• Comfortable in fast-paced OR settings and hospital-based rounding
• Ability to manage night and weekend call with sound clinical judgment
• Knowledge of trauma care principles appropriate to a Level II center
