Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional abilities and occupational needs to build person-centered plans
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote independence in ADLs
• Use therapeutic activities, adaptive equipment, and education to improve outcomes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and discharge planning
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely
• Coach patients and families on home programs and adaptive strategies for daily life

Qualifications

• Current, active Occupational Therapist license in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain one
• OTR (or relevant state credential) preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain
• Clinical experience in acute rehab, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and ability to work with diverse teams
• Clear communicator who can engage patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or accredited entry-level OTD)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL assessment and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Familiarity with therapeutic techniques for mobility, cognition, and upper-extremity function
• Proficient documentation and electronic medical record entry
• Ability to lead patient- and family-centered education
• Team collaboration and time management in fast-paced rehab settings
