Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' functional abilities and needs using evidence-based occupational therapy assessments
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote independence and meaningful engagement
• Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions and adaptive strategies to improve daily living skills
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and family members to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
• Document progress, goals, and discharge planning clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Provide patient and family education on home programs, adaptive equipment, and safety strategies
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement initiatives to enhance care

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy license in Virginia or ability to obtain state licensure
• OTR credential or appropriate national certification preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Prior experience in rehabilitation or acute care preferred; open to passionate clinicians ready to grow
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and a patient-centered approach

Education

• Master's or entry-level/clinical doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT/MS/OTD) from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in OT assessments, treatment planning, and ADL/IADL interventions
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and mobility techniques
• Proficient in clinical documentation and electronic medical record use
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across disciplines
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting
