Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centered occupational therapy interventions to support functional independence
- Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Guide and train patients and families on activities of daily living and home strategies
- Document progress and outcomes clearly and promptly in the medical record
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient recovery
- Maintain professional standards, follow safety protocols, and support quality initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Massachusetts
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtain upon hire
- Prior experience in outpatient, inpatient rehab, or contract travel OT settings preferred
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility immunization requirements
- Comfort with flexible assignments and travel for a 14-week contract
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and therapeutic activity planning
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with nurses, PTs, SLPs, and case managers
- Familiarity with common rehab diagnoses and evidence-based OT interventions
- Good time management and caseload prioritization
- Comfortable using electronic health records and digital documentation tools
