Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, assisting with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Monitor and document vital signs, behaviors, and changes in condition accurately and promptly
• Assist nursing staff with mobility, transfers, and safe positioning of residents
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents at all times
• Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Follow infection control standards and facility protocols to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — T-CNA certification accepted
• Active state CNA credential or ability to obtain WV certification prior to start
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or obtainable
• Comfort and experience working overnight shifts in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting
• Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused approach to care

Education

• Completion of an accredited CNA training program; high school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in basic patient care, activities of daily living (ADLs), and resident safety
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE
• Good charting and documentation practices
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents and multidisciplinary teams
• Time management and ability to prioritize in a busy clinical environment
