Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and document resident condition and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Deliver medication reminders and basic treatments as directed by licensed staff
• Foster a warm, respectful environment that preserves dignity and independence
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in shift handovers and accurate charting to maintain excellent communication

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Travel CNA (T-CNA) certification
• Current state CNA certification or ability to obtain West Virginia certification
• Willingness and ability to work overnight shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Reliable, professional attitude with a patient-centered approach
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong basic nursing care skills and proficiency with ADLs
• Comfortable with resident safety, infection control, and documentation
• Good communication and teamwork skills — you’ll be part of a close-knit crew
• Ability to follow care plans and quickly escalate concerns to nursing staff
• Time management skills to balance resident needs during busy shifts
