Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 5:30 AM - 6:30 PM (12-hour day shift). No weekends, No holidays. (Typical 12-hour day schedule; EOW noted in shift comments)

Candidate Pay Rate: $68 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert post-anesthesia care: monitor patients through recovery after outpatient surgical procedures and clean caths
- Closely observe and interpret telemetry strips and cardiac rhythms to detect and act on changes quickly
- Deliver focused critical care when required (1:1 or 1:2 ratios for critical care or pediatrics) and escalate to hospitalists/intensivists as needed
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Cerner to support continuity of care and regulatory compliance
- Serve as charge nurse when assigned — coordinate the unit, prioritize patient flow, and support teammates
- Collaborate with RT, pharmacy, IV teams and other disciplines to ensure safe, timely care
- Provide patient and family education during recovery and discharge processes to improve outcomes and satisfaction
- Maintain a calm, efficient presence in a very fast-paced short-stay/PACU environment
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (eligible to submit) — License to submit: Yes
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (as stated)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (must be current)
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Proven ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Comfort working in a fast-paced short-stay/PACU setting and ability to manage 1:1 and 1:2 patient ratios
- COVID vaccine certification required (as listed)
- Willingness to complete unit-specific orientation (approximately one week or until comfortable)
Education
- BSN not required (position indicates BSN Required: No)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong PACU/post-anesthesia care expertise and recovery protocols
- Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Proficient use of Cerner for charting and clinical documentation
- Charge nurse skills: delegation, prioritization, and unit coordination
- Able to work without nurse aides on the unit and manage workload safely
- Excellent communication and teamwork in a multi-disciplinary hospital environment
- Comfort with pediatric and critical care scenarios as ratios may require
- Adaptability to fast-paced case flow and short-stay patient turnover
