Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (day & night). Day shift: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM. Rotating schedule with every-other-weekend requirement and expectation to work most holidays; schedules posted ~3-4 weeks in advance. Rotating shifts including weekends and holiday coverage.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care across ICU and med-surg/tele units, making a real difference for patients with COPD, asthma, pneumonia and CHF
- Manage mechanical ventilation and advanced ventilator modes using Hamilton, G5, C1, MR1 and Galileo devices
- Perform and interpret ABGs and EKGs to guide timely respiratory interventions
- Initiate and manage non-invasive ventilation (NIV) and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy
- Implement Respiratory Therapy Driven Protocols consistently in a protocol-driven facility
- Provide hands-on therapies including IPV and PEP/PAP therapy and breathing treatments
- Document care accurately in Cerner EMR and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Float to assigned areas (all except NICU) with professional flexibility and teamwork
- Support emergency response efforts and collaborate with hospitalists/intensivists on patient care
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — California requires RRT (CRT not accepted)
- Minimum 2-5 years of critical care experience — must have travel experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications; NRP and PALS required (NPS if you want NICU shifts)
- Comfortable working in a protocol-driven environment and serving as charge RT when needed
- Experience with Cerner EMR and telemetry monitoring (GE telemetry)
- Proven ability to manage mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory therapies
Knowledge & Skills
- Mechanical ventilation expertise and ventilator troubleshooting
- ABG analysis and arterial blood gas interpretation
- Non-invasive ventilation (NIV) and HFNC management
- Experience with Respiratory Therapy Driven Protocols
- Hands-on skills: EKGs, IPV, PEP/PAP therapy, and bedside respiratory treatments
- Familiarity with ventilators: Hamilton, G5, C1, MR1, Galileo
- Cerner EMR documentation and clinical workflow
- Strong critical care assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
