Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM (Day) with required on-call coverage — includes nights, weekends and holiday call as needed; approximately 10-12 on-call shifts per month with a 30-minute call response time; roughly 10-11 clinical days/month including one weekend
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub complex cases including electrophysiology ablations, LAAO procedures, and cardiac device implants (PPM/ICD)
- Monitor patients during diagnostic and interventional cath lab procedures to ensure safety and quality care
- Float between Bryan (home base) and College Station campuses, providing reliable coverage across sites
- Respond to on-call notifications promptly — 30-minute response expectation for urgent cases
- Collaborate closely with cardiologists, charge nurses and cath lab techs to deliver excellent patient outcomes
- Use McKesson, Toshiba imaging systems and MEDITECH charting to document and support patient care
- Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing training to maintain high clinical standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of relevant Cath Lab/Electrophysiology experience
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS, and ARRT or RCIS (verification required)
- Must be able to scrub ablations, LAAO cases and device cases (PPM/ICD)
- Experience monitoring and scrubbing in EP and general cath lab procedures
- Comfortable floating between campuses (Bryan and College Station) and working across cardiac, peripheral, neuro and trauma embolization cases
- Able to meet a 30-minute on-call response time and complete ~10-12 on-call shifts per month
- Experience with McKesson, Toshiba equipment and MEDITECH documentation preferred
- Candidates may not have been employed (FT/PT/PRN) by CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity within the past year; PRN via outside firms will be considered
Knowledge & Skills
- Electrophysiology (EP) procedures and ablation scrub technique
- Left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) and device case (PPM/ICD) scrub skills
- Cardiac cath lab procedures: LHC, RHC, peripheral angio/PCI and IVC filter work
- Neuro interventions: cerebral angiography, aneurysm coiling, stroke thrombectomy
- Endovascular skills: EVAR, carotid endarterectomy awareness, trauma embolization care
- Patient monitoring, sterile technique, and OR/cath lab workflow
- Proficiency with imaging/charting systems such as McKesson, Toshiba and MEDITECH
- Strong teamwork, communication and rapid on-call response capability
