Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Stabilize and treat acute conditions using evidence-based emergency nursing practices
• Administer medications and interventions safely while monitoring patient response
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document patient care and clinical findings thoroughly in MEDITECH
• Support trauma activations and critical interventions in an acute care ER setting
• Participate in unit orientation and competency validation to maintain high standards
• Uphold hospital policies including infection control and professional appearance guidelines

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) license — eligible to practice in Nebraska required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications required per posting
• Proficiency with MEDITECH charting system preferred/required by unit
• Valid driver’s license required at time of submittal
• Willingness to complete a pass/fail orientation exam (90% required to pass)
• Must not be currently employed (FT/PT/PRN) with any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility and must be within the 50-mile radius rule
• Comply with fingernail policy: artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required (posting indicates BSN requirement: ---)
• 12 hours of orientation included

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Trauma-informed care and acute patient stabilization
• Medication administration and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)
• Proficient clinical documentation in MEDITECH
• Critical thinking, rapid decision-making and calm under pressure
• Effective communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Comfort working 12-hour evening/night shifts in a fast-paced ER environment
