Shift Type: Rotating 8-hour shifts (Days, Evenings and Nights): 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM; 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM; 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Schedule is rotating to fulfill a 40 hours/week guarantee. Exact days of week vary by assignment; evening (PM) rotations may be every-other-week (EOW).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Process, decontaminate and sterilize surgical instruments and procedural sets using industry-standard methods
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment such as Steris and Sterrad to ensure patient safety
- Perform high level disinfection, VP Plasma and steam sterilization according to protocols
- Prepare and stage sterile trays and supplies for the OR to support efficient surgical flow
- Maintain accurate documentation and charting in Cerner for traceability and compliance
- Collaborate with OR teams and allied staff to ensure timely instrument availability and resolve issues
- Adhere to infection control standards and contribute to a safe patient care environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) or equivalent certification through IAHCSMM or CBSPD
- Current BLS certification
- Hands-on experience with Steris and Sterrad equipment
- Familiarity with high level disinfection processes, VP Plasma and steam sterilization
- Experience using Cerner or similar electronic charting systems
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of sterile processing workflows and infection control principles
- Skill operating sterilizers and high level disinfection equipment
- Ability to prepare and manage instrument sets for the OR
- Proficiency with Cerner charting and documentation related to sterile processing
- Attention to detail, time management and teamwork in a fast-paced acute care setting
