Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM - 6:45 PM, every other weekend and rotating holidays; self-scheduled with manager finalization; travelers may be first to float and have access to extra/OT shifts

Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered critical care in SICU and TICU settings, managing complex postoperative and trauma patients
- Manage ventilators and advanced life support for critically ill patients, including ventilator adjustments and monitoring
- Provide CRRT and ECMO support and monitoring for patients requiring renal replacement or extracorporeal support
- Interpret telemetry and EKG strips accurately to detect rhythm changes and respond appropriately
- Perform and assist with line placements and rapid infusion protocols as needed
- Collaborate on interdisciplinary rounds and communicate effectively with physicians, RTs, pharmacy, and the care team
- Float between SICU and TICU as census requires while maintaining safe patient ratios and continuity of care
- Serve as charge relief when assigned and support unit flow, safety attendants, and team coordination
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) — license to submit is required
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Experience with ventilator management, telemetry (EKG interpretation), CRRT and ECMO strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical record
- TNCC and trauma experience preferred for TICU shifts; IABP familiarity is a plus
- Charge nurse or leadership experience preferred
- Candidates may not have been employed (FT/PT/PRN) by CommonSpirit-affiliated facilities within the past year; PRN through outside firms is acceptable
- Med Sol prescreens require two supervisor references at submittal (one within 12 months and one within 3 years)
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care nursing for surgical and trauma populations (SICU/TICU)
- Postoperative vascular and thoracic patient care including fem-pop, EVAR, laparotomy care
- Advanced cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation
- Ventilator management and respiratory support collaboration with RT 24/7
- CRRT and ECMO management and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with rapid infusers, line insertions, and IABP patient care
- Experience charting in Cerner and working with ICU pharmacy and resource nursing teams
- Ability to function in a 1:1 to 1:2 patient ratio environment and adapt to floating between facilities
