Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts (12-hour shifts; day and night assigned as needed). PRN schedule with a minimum of 2 shifts per month; must be flexible to cover weekends and holidays. Specific clock-in/clock-out times are assigned by the unit and are not listed in the posting.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based Med‑Surg nursing care for adult geriatrics and pediatric patients
• Assess, monitor and document patient conditions; recognize changes and intervene appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to orders and unit protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate excellent patient care
• Support and staff flu immunization clinics and other department needs when assigned
• Float to other qualified departments as needed and provide competent patient care or task-oriented support
• Attend staff meetings and participate in unit communication to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — current active licensure as required for assignment
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required; PALS required
• Three (3) years of Med‑Surg nursing experience
• At least one (1) year of pediatric nursing experience and comfort caring for both adults and children
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and be flexible for weekends, holidays and floating assignments
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Med‑Surg nursing for adults and pediatrics
• Pediatric assessment and age-appropriate care
• Cardiac life support skills (BLS, ACLS, PALS)
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Patient monitoring, documentation and electronic health record usage
• Infection control and safe clinical practice
• Adaptability to float to other units and handle task-oriented assignments
• Time management, prioritization and effective interdisciplinary communication
