Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate acute care to ICU and PCU patients, monitoring status and intervening promptly
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care for critically ill patients
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment, including ventilators and advanced monitoring systems
• Document care thoroughly and accurately while maintaining continuity during shift handoffs
• Mentor and support colleagues when appropriate, contributing to a positive clinical environment
• Participate in unit initiatives to improve performance and patient safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Nebraska) or Compact State privilege where applicable
• Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred or required by hire
• Experience in ICU or PCU preferred; strong critical care assessment skills
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and rotating between day and night
• Current immunizations and required facility clearances
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of critical care principles, hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Familiarity with telemetry, infusion pumps and central line care
• Skilled in rapid assessment, prioritization and delegation in high-acuity settings
• Proficient documentation practices and electronic health record usage
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make patient-centered decisions
