Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations and psychosocial assessments to guide care
• Develop clear, patient-centered treatment plans and coordinate interdisciplinary care
• Provide crisis counseling and timely referrals to behavioral health resources
• Manage a caseload with excellent documentation that meets regulatory and departmental standards
• Advocate for patients and connect families with housing, financial, and community resources
• Participate in care conferences and collaborate with state/community agencies for placements
• Offer therapeutic support and education to patients and families to promote recovery and stability
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance while delivering compassionate, practical care

Qualifications

• Current Alaska LCSW license required at time of submittal
• Minimum 2–4 years of social work experience in inpatient or outpatient healthcare settings
• NABCS and ICPA clearances required prior to start
• Flu vaccination required
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Comfort working with individuals experiencing homelessness, addictions, and severe/persistent mental illness

Education

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) — required
• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) may be considered in some contexts, but Alaska LCSW is required at submittal

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in mental health evaluations, treatment planning, and crisis intervention
• Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
• Case management principles in integrated care settings
• Empathic, supportive listening and strong oral/written communication
• Ability to build interdisciplinary relationships and coordinate discharge planning
• Familiarity with basic nutrition, physical activity guidance, and tobacco cessation resources
• Proficiency with common office tools: Google Drive, phone systems, fax, and clinical software
