Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to long term care residents
• Execute medication administration and accurate documentation following facility policies
• Perform routine assessments and report changes in resident condition to the care team
• Collaborate with CNAs, RNs, and interdisciplinary staff to create safe care plans
• Support daily living needs and promote dignity and independence for residents
• Maintain infection control standards and participate in facility safety practices
• Communicate clearly with residents, families, and team members to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in New Mexico or compact/licensure acceptable for local practice
• Graduation from an accredited LPN/licensed vocational nursing program
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous experience in long term care or skilled nursing is highly desired
• Ability to work independently in a small rural facility with limited on-shift staff
• Reliable transportation and local availability for a local contract assignment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited LPN/Vocational Nursing program
• High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
• Skilled in documentation and electronic charting systems
• Sound knowledge of long term care regulations and best practices
• Able to prioritize tasks and manage time during a 12-hour night shift
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with residents and families
• Team-oriented mindset and adaptability in a smaller facility setting
