Shift Type: Night shifts, 12-hour, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating schedule with 3-4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks (36 guaranteed hours/week)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments and detect small changes in neuro patients to drive timely interventions
- Monitor telemetry and dysrhythmias vigilantly, completing required competency assessments
- Maintain sterile technique for procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
- Provide skilled care for epilepsy monitoring patients including trend EEG observations and neuro assessments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RT, pharmacy, hospitalists/intensivists, and IV SWAT for complex care
- Participate in SIMs Lab, lifts, restraints, and wound care education to ensure competency and patient safety
- Float to MedSurg/Telemetry as needed while maintaining high standards of documentation in Cerner
- Contribute to unit safety and quality initiatives and support a positive patient experience
Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing (willing to wait for license submission if needed)
- Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience (MedSurg/Telemetry/Neuro experience strongly preferred)
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong dysrhythmia recognition skills (must pass dysrhythmia exam; two attempts allowed)
- Competency with Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (SIMs Lab pass/fail)
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring, IV insertion, and neuro assessments
- Must have reliable vehicle (travel teams requirement)
- Facility appearance/fit-test requirements: natural hair color, no facial piercings, men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred
- Certified Med-Surg/Telemetry is preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and critical thinking for neuro populations
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
- Sterile technique and maintaining a sterile field
- Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing care
- IV insertion and troubleshooting with IV SWAT support
- Neuro assessments including cranial nerve observation and EEG trend interpretation
- Experience with Cerner charting system
- Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team
