Shift Type: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts; rotating schedule with 36 guaranteed hours/week; typically 3-4 weekend nights per 4-week block; holidays as scheduled

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to keep patients safe and stable
- Titrate drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone per unit protocols
- Provide post-operative care for cardiovascular surgery patients, including assessments and wound care
- Perform sterile procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
- Complete SIMs lab competencies on Day 1 of orientation and maintain sterile technique
- Collaborate with off-unit telemetry techs and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Manage assignments at a 1:3 or 1:4 nurse to patient ratio while prioritizing critical needs
- Respond to emergencies, escalate concerns, and participate in unit quality and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to practice in Arizona)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; Level 1 trauma experience is a MUST HAVE
- Current BLS certification required
- Comfortable titrating drips and interpreting telemetry strips
- Competency with Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes or willingness to demonstrate skills in SIMs lab
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts allowed)
- Travel teams must have their own vehicle and valid driver license
- Willingness to comply with facility appearance and fit test requirements (natural hair color, no facial piercings, men clean shaven for fit test)
Education
- Active RN license required
- BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of common and dysrhythmic rhythms
- Experience with GE telemetry packs and Cerner charting system
- Titration and management of Heparin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone drips
- Sterile technique, central line dressing care, and Foley catheter insertion
- Post-op cardiovascular care including CABG, MVR, STEMI, heart failure management
- Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, and HFNC respiratory support
- Wound care, lifts and restraints procedures, and unit-based emergency response
