Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum nursing care for mothers and newborns
• Perform triage and assessment for patients presenting in labor or with perinatal concerns
• Monitor fetal status using fetal monitoring and intervene or escalate as needed
• Deliver newborn stabilization and neonatal resuscitation following NRP and STABLE principles
• Support GYN surgical care when needed and collaborate with surgical teams
• Communicate clearly with families and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, family-centered care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient teaching accurately and timely

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required upon submission
• Healthcare Provider BLS required
• AHA ACLS and NRP required
• PALS preferred
• Perinatal RNC certification preferred
• Verification of high school diploma or equivalent required (CAP requirement)
• Experience in Triage, Labor and Delivery, Postpartum required; Nursery experience preferred
• Experience or demonstrated skill in stabilization of high-risk neonates preferred

Education

• Verification of high school diploma or equivalent required
• Current RN licensure in Oregon (ADN or BSN as required for RN licensure)

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor and delivery management and recovery care
• Postpartum nursing and newborn care
• Neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and STABLE stabilization concepts
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Fetal monitoring and basic fetal strip interpretation
• Triage assessment and prioritization
• Perinatal nursing practices and family-centered care
• GYN surgical care familiarity and perioperative support for OB/GYN cases
