Shift Type: Rotating day shifts, 4x10 (07:00 AM - 05:00 PM). Rotation schedule with approximately 3 weekend days per month and one holiday per year; preferred 10-hour days (may be flexible to 8-hour days).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and evaluations for acute care inpatients, including pre/post-op OR patients
• Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care and home exercise programs
• Provide safe lifting and transfer training and ensure patient safety and injury prevention
• Deliver patient and family education to support discharge planning and successful transitions
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic, maintaining compliance with billing and documentation standards
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including PT, respiratory, pharmacy, radiology and social services
• Float between assigned units as needed while focusing on inpatient acute care responsibilities
• Participate in weekend coverage rotation and work one observed holiday per year

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (state license required) with Operating Room (OR) licensure as specified
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient acute care hospital experience (hardstop: inpatient acute care experience required)
• Charting experience in Epic is required
• BLS and NBCOT preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, teaching hospital environment and collaborating with OR/cath lab teams

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment, evaluation, reassessments, and developing plans of care
• Expertise in discharge planning and coordination
• Competent with home exercise program creation and patient/family education
• Proficient in safe lifting and transfer techniques and safety/injury prevention practices
• Strong documentation and billing knowledge for acute care settings
• Effective telephone communication and interdisciplinary teamwork
• Experience using Epic for clinical charting and documentation
