Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (night shift, rotating/varies; includes weekends and holiday coverage as scheduled)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide specialized, compassionate care to neonates (Level III NICU, 22 weeks gestation and up), prioritizing safety and family-centered practice
- Manage respiratory needs including ventilator settings and troubleshooting (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Administer medications and emergency therapies using the Pyxis medication system, including IV vasopressors, surfactants and steroids
- Perform and manage invasive lines and catheters: arterial lines, UAC/UVC and central line care with strict infection control
- Implement feeding strategies and manage oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes for growth and tolerance
- Interpret and manage cardiovascular dysrhythmias and respond appropriately in acute situations
- Document care thoroughly and timely in Nationwide Children's EPIC, ensuring continuity and quality of care
- Communicate clearly with families and the care team using SBAR and participate in multidisciplinary rounds
Qualifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required)
- Experience in NICU Level III and/or Level IV settings (minimum ~1 year NICU experience specified)
- Competency in ventilator management, IV therapy, and central/umbilical catheter care (UAC/UVC)
- Ability to interpret and manage neonatal dysrhythmias and emergency medications
- Comfort with feeding tube placement/management and neonatal abstinence syndrome care
- Willingness to float to other units within the OSU organization as needed
- Familiarity with Pyxis medication system and EPIC charting (Nationwide Children's EPIC preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Neonatal nursing best practices for Level III NICU patients
- Respiratory management and ventilator modes (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Arterial line, central line, UAC and UVC management
- IV therapy including vasopressors and emergency medication administration
- Feeding management: bottle, breast, gavage, and enteral tube care
- Infection prevention and isolation precautions (PPE)
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiovascular monitoring
- Effective clinical communication (SBAR) and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Proficiency with Pyxis medication system and EPIC documentation
