Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Monitor and document patients' vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe patient transfers, positioning, and basic mobility
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records in the charting system
• Follow infection control protocols and uphold a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and bedside support during shift handoffs

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in good standing (California state requirements apply)
• Recent experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar clinical setting preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification as required by facility
• Ability to work overnight shifts and remain reliable for scheduled per-diem coverage
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and TB screening

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care fundamentals including ADLs and basic clinical monitoring
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for fast-paced clinical settings
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety best practices
• Basic charting and documentation skills; ability to learn facility EMR quickly
• Time management and prioritization during busy night shifts
• Compassionate bedside manner and respect for patient dignity
