Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions to support patients in regaining independence
• Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Guide and train patients and families in activities of daily living and safe home strategies
• Document progress and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to deliver coordinated care
• Assist with mobility, adaptive equipment recommendations, and therapeutic exercises
• Support discharge planning and communicate patient needs clearly to the care team

Qualifications

• Current COTA certification (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant)
• Active state licensure in New Hampshire or eligibility to obtain licensure quickly
• Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable documenting in EMR systems and completing required charting
• Previous experience in inpatient rehab, acute care, or similar settings preferred
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and health requirements

Education

• Associate degree or diploma from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
• COTA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Assessment and treatment planning for ADLs, transfers, and functional mobility
• Therapeutic exercise, adaptive equipment training, and patient education
• Knowledge of splinting, positioning, and basic orthotic/assistive devices
• Strong clinical documentation and outcome tracking skills
• Effective communication and teamwork in interdisciplinary settings
• Time management and ability to prioritize caseloads in a fast-paced environment
