Location: Newport, VT

Start Date: 04-02-2026

End Date: 07-09-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Sunday-Saturday, 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM (day). Every other weekend required (local only).

Hours per Week: 37

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and compassion
Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team promptly
Perform routine vital signs and documentation accurately and on time
Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members

Qualifications

Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) credential — required
Active and valid LNA authorization for Vermont (or ability to obtain promptly)
Comfortable working the 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM shift and every-other-weekend schedule
Strong communication skills and a caring bedside manner
Ability to pass facility background checks and meet onboarding requirements

Education

High school diploma or GED
Completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant (LNA) training program

Knowledge & Skills

Practical knowledge of resident care and activities of daily living
Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
Understanding of infection control and safe patient handling
Teamwork and clear communication with nursing staff and families
Reliability, attention to detail, and strong observational skills
