Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) to promote resident dignity
• Support safe mobility and transfers while encouraging independence
• Observe and report changes in resident condition promptly to the care team
• Assist with meal service and feeding as needed, following dietary guidance
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and resident interactions
• Follow infection control practices and facility safety protocols
• Engage residents in friendly conversation and meaningful activities to enhance quality of life
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• GNA certification or Geriatric Nursing Assistant credential required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) strongly preferred
• Demonstrated experience working with older adults or in long-term care settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) support and safe transfer techniques
• Skill measuring and recording vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with basic infection control and PPE use
• Person-centered care approach, especially for residents with dementia
• Good documentation and charting practices
• Strong interpersonal and observational skills
