Roles & Responsibilities

• Start and manage IVs safely and maintain peripheral and PICC line care
• Administer medications accurately and monitor patient responses
• Continuously monitor vitals and recognize changes in patient condition
• Document thoroughly in EPIC EMR to ensure clear, timely communication
• Educate patients and families about treatments and self-care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans
• Respond as part of Rapid Response/Code teams when needed
• Float to lower acuity units as required to meet patient care needs

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license
• Minimum 2 years of clinical/acute care nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• IV certification and demonstrated IV therapy skills (start and maintain IVs)
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and multitasking abilities
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and cover scheduled weekends
• Flu vaccine required per facility guideline (medical exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Knowledge & Skills

• IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Medication administration and IV antibiotic management
• Patient monitoring, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac) and related care
• PICC and peripheral line care
• Oxygen administration and respiratory support skills
• Use of isolation precautions and PPE
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code team protocols
