Shift Type: Day shift, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (1x8-hour); weekend coverage: 3 weekend shifts per month (Sat/Sun) — day shift work, exact days scheduled by facility
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess adult and geriatric patients in an inpatient rehabilitation (IRF) setting using IRF-PAI and other standardized assessments
- Develop individualized plans of care focused on function, safety and community reintegration
- Implement therapeutic interventions including splinting, prosthetics/orthotics support, adaptive equipment and home exercise programs
- Conduct wheelchair evaluations, positioning and mobility training to maximize independence
- Document thoroughly (assessment, POC, reassessments, discharge) using the charting system (Epic preferred)
- Provide patient and family education to promote safe discharge and ongoing recovery
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care across acute and rehab settings
- Float to other UCSF facilities as needed to support staffing and continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current California Occupational Therapy license (CA OT License) required
- AHA BLS certification required
- MS or MA degree in Occupational Therapy (MS/MA) required
- Minimum 1 year of licensed inpatient rehabilitation (IRF) experience — clinical rotations excluded
- MUST have IRF-PAI experience (experience with IRF documentation and billing)
- COVID-19 vaccine required + booster per facility guidelines (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Ability to float to other UCSF facilities as requested
- Experience with Epic charting preferred
Education
- MS or MA in Occupational Therapy (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- IRF-PAI documentation and inpatient rehab billing knowledge
- Splinting: static, dynamic, functional and custom splints
- Prosthetics/Orthotics experience including above-knee and below-knee prosthetics and upper-extremity prosthetics
- Wheelchair evaluation, seating and positioning
- Adaptive equipment selection and home assessment for safe discharge
- Modalities: electrical stimulation, TENS, ultrasound, kinesiotaping
- Assessment tools: cognitive, perceptual and adaptive equipment assessments
- Experience with orthopedic, cardiac, neurologic (CVA, TBI, SCI, PD, MS) and general med/surg diagnoses
- Strong patient/family education, lifting/transfer training and safety/injury prevention skills
