Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM (Day); rotating weekends approximately 1 weekend per month; rotation includes 1-2 night shifts per week as scheduled. 8-hour shifts may start at 6:30 AM or 8:30 AM when assigned. 12-hour shifts (when scheduled) typically start at 6:30 AM.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare, assemble, and verify case carts, trays, and single instruments for a busy OR — ensuring everything is sterile, accounted for, and ready
- Process and reprocess flexible endoscopes and scopes using aseptic technique and high level disinfectant protocols
- Support surgeons and the perioperative team during procedures across specialties including vascular, neuro spine, plastics, OB/GYN, urology, and general surgery
- Follow Universal Protocol (time out) and maintain impeccable sterile technique to protect patient safety
- Document case activity and instrument tracking accurately in Epic and department systems
- Float between SPD, Endoscopy, and OR units as needed to meet staffing needs
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide reliable weekend/night coverage when scheduled
- Assist with equipment set-up and troubleshooting for robotics and electrosurgical units
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist or relevant OR experience (preferred Trauma Level II or community hospital experience)
- Required certifications: BLS and CA; NCCT or CST (CST or NCCT strongly preferred)
- Comfortable with vascular and endoscopy procedures and exposure to robotics (Da Vinci Xi experience a plus)
- Able to float between units (SPD and Endoscopy) and participate in call rotation (approx. 1 weekend/month and 1-2 night shifts/week)
- Pending license not accepted; must have required licensure at time of submission
- Strong teamwork, communication, and adherence to sterile processing and infection control standards
Education
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent preferred
- High school diploma or GED required; CST or NCCT certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Aseptic technique, sterile processing, sterilization and disinfection practices
- Instrument processing, assembly/wrap, sets/tray assembly, and single instrument handling
- Flexible endoscope reprocessing and scope/probe reprocessing knowledge
- Experience with endoscopic procedures: bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, EGD
- Familiarity with robotics and Da Vinci Xi surgical system workflows
- Comfort with case carts, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, washers/sterilizers, and HLD
- Universal Protocol (time out) procedure and sharps safety
- Ability to work across specialties: vascular, neuro, ortho, plastics, OB/GYN, urology, ENT, and thoracic
