Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with interventional radiology procedures including angioplasty, carotid stenting, and upper/lower extremity angiography
• Monitor patients during procedures and interpret/manage dysrhythmias to maintain safety
• Manage vascular access tasks including sheath removal, monitoring, and use of vascular closure systems
• Maintain radiation and laser safety practices in the procedure suite
• Document thoroughly in EPIC and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams
• Assess and prevent pressure ulcers and apply sedation/agitation scoring using the Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale
• Float between like units as needed and respond to call assignments promptly

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (required)
• Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Comfortable charting in EPIC
• Able to float between like units and participate in call coverage
• Ability to work in a Level II Trauma Center environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; ADN/BSN preferred where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Interventional Radiology procedures and vascular studies
• Angioplasty and carotid stenting familiarity
• Sheath removal and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
• Radiation and laser safety best practices
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Pressure ulcer assessment and prevention
• Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale application
• Comfortable using EPIC for charting and communication
