Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients across adolescent, adult, pediatric and geriatric populations to create individualized treatment plans
• Design and implement home exercise programs that promote functional independence
• Provide expert splinting, adaptive equipment recommendations, and wheelchair evaluation and positioning
• Deliver patient and family education to support long-term recovery and safe discharge
• Collaborate with physical therapy, nursing and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Participate in pre-discharge planning and transitional care to reduce readmissions
• Use cognitive and functional assessments to guide therapy and measure outcomes

Qualifications

• Current California Occupational Therapy license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• BLS certification required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of clinical occupational therapy experience preferred
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Comfortable with inpatient and acute rehab environments; community hospital experience is a plus
• Skills or interest in pediatrics, hand clinic, splinting and upper extremity care are welcome
• RTO (return to office / availability) must be included with submission
• Locals accepted; travel experience not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Splinting: dynamic and functional splint fabrication and fitting
• Adaptive equipment assessment and recommendations for adults and pediatrics
• Wheelchair evaluation and positioning
• Cognitive assessment and intervention planning
• Home exercise program development and patient education
• Ultrasound familiarity and hands-on manual therapy skills
• Experience with orthopedic, neurologic and hand injury diagnoses
• Prosthetics/orthotics exposure, especially upper extremity
• Thorough documentation skills, especially in Epic
