Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality external beam radiation treatments including IMRT, VMAT, SRS and SBRT with precision and compassion
- Perform CT simulation and accurate patient positioning for reproducible treatments
- Use imaging modalities (CBCT/kV/mV) and IGRT techniques to verify targets before treatment
- Operate treatment platforms such as TrueBeam and Varian 21 ex/ix and manage plans in Eclipse and ARIA
- Chart thoroughly and timely in EPIC, ensuring clear communication across the care team
- Maintain patient safety and radiation safety protocols, including emergency response readiness
- Assist with treatment planning tasks like field shaping, electron setups and custom devices as needed
- Support multidisciplinary oncology care with a focus on patient comfort, education, and dignity
Qualifications
- ARRT(T) certification required
- Current Washington state radiation therapist license required (pending license accepted)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of radiation therapy experience (first-time travelers accepted)
- Comfortable with SRS, SBRT, IMRT, IGRT, 3D techniques and electron setups
- Experience with Varian platforms (TrueBeam, Varian 21 ex/ix), ARIA and Eclipse preferred
- Able to chart in EPIC and follow institutional safety and emergency protocols
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven skills in external beam therapy delivery and stereotactic techniques
- CT simulation and tumor localization expertise
- Competence with Eclipse (Varian), ARIA and TrueBeam systems
- Image-guided radiation therapy using CBCT/kV/mV workflows
- Familiarity with VMAT, IMRT and SBRT planning/delivery considerations
- Strong radiation safety practices and experience with crash cart/defibrillator procedures
- Ability to perform chart checks, field shaping and custom mold/shield preparation
- Understanding of billing nuances for treatment types and devices
