Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Variable schedule, 4x12 or 3x12 (traveler's choice). Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Days). Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Nights). Shifts are either Days or Nights (not required to rotate), may include weekends as needed
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $34 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, toileting, and mobility
- Obtain and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, orthostatics) accurately
- Perform safe patient transfers using appropriate equipment such as skylift/Hoyer lifts
- Conduct point-of-care glucose testing and use glucometer accurately
- Monitor oxygen equipment and pulse oximetry and respond to changes in condition
- Chart care, observations and changes in patient condition in ECS in a timely manner
- Follow infection control practices including proper donning and removal of PPE and isolation precautions
- Provide compassionate care for residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia, TBI and behavioral needs
Qualifications
- Current CNA license in another state and proof that Alaska CNA application has been submitted (AK license pending accepted with documentation)
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 6 months of long-term care (LTC) experience; previous travel experience required
- Comfortable with resident ratios up to 1:20 on days and 1:10 on nights
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs and work weekends as scheduled
- Valid driver’s license and proof of personal auto insurance if using facility rental vehicle
Education
- Completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate or transcript required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and safe mobility techniques
- Proficient in obtaining and interpreting vital signs and pulse oximetry
- Experience with glucometer/point-of-care glucose testing
- Familiarity with oxygen tank handling and basic respiratory support equipment
- Skilled in safe patient transfers and use of mechanical lifts (Skylift/Hoyer)
- Infection control and isolation precautions, including proper PPE use
- Comfortable charting in ECS and reporting changes in patient condition
