Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care during endoscopy procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, and EBUS
• Monitor and document patient status during conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care
• Manage airway and provide recovery care post-procedure to ensure smooth transitions
• Perform circulating and scrub duties as needed to support efficient procedure flow
• Chart accurately and timely in Epic to maintain clear patient records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including anesthesia, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy to optimize patient outcomes
• Follow specimen handling and labeling procedures to support accurate diagnostics
• Participate in orientation and maintain competency with specialized equipment such as ION, FUJI scopes, and ERBE

Qualifications

• Active RN license; Alaska RN license in hand preferred for auto offer (pending licenses accepted but AK license strongly preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• BLS required; ACLS, PALS, SGNA preferred
• Hands-on proficiency with endoscopy procedures: EUS, EBUS, ERCP, ION, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy
• Experience with conscious sedation monitoring and airway management
• Experience charting in Epic preferred
• Willingness to be on-call every 5th weekend and adhere to limited RTO rules during assignment
• Able to work both inpatient and outpatient endoscopy settings

Knowledge & Skills

• Monitoring conscious sedation and recovering patients from sedation
• Airway management and monitored anesthesia care recovery
• Circulating and scrubbing in endoscopy procedures
• Familiarity with ION equipment, FUJI scopes, and ERBE systems
• Specimen handling and proper labeling
• Epic electronic charting and documentation best practices
• Comfort with a broad patient age range from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Strong teamwork and communication across interdisciplinary support services
