Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform CT and X-ray exams with precision, including stroke and advanced cardiac protocols to support rapid, life-saving diagnoses
- Prepare, administer, and document contrast media safely and according to protocol
- Start peripheral IVs when needed and manage patient care across all age groups from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Operate and troubleshoot GE imaging equipment and PACS, ensuring high-quality images and timely availability for clinicians
- Accurately chart procedures and findings in EPIC and maintain clear communication with ED providers
- Collaborate with the emergency team to prioritize urgent cases and support efficient patient flow
- Maintain professional standards, infection control, and patient privacy while delivering exceptional customer service
Qualifications
- ARRT certification required (ARRT RT (R) (CT) preferred)
- BLS certification required
- Active Washington state radiology license (WA LIC) required; compact license accepted where applicable
- Minimum 2 years of CT experience (stroke and cardiac imaging experience strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with EPIC charting and PACS
- Comfortable working independently in a busy ED environment and responding to on-call notifications within 30 minutes
Knowledge & Skills
- CT imaging and advanced CT procedures: brain perfusion, coronary CTA, vascular CTA, CT arthrography, myelography, transplant studies
- General X-ray skills across extremities, abdomen/GI, spine/pelvis, head, chest/thorax, and fluoroscopy studies
- Preparation and administration of contrast media and starting peripheral IVs
- Equipment experience with GE scanners and PACS workflow
- Post-processing skills including multiplanar reconstruction (MPR)
- Comfort with enema studies, C-arm support in surgery, and Shimatzu X-ray systems (preferred)
