Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up in-lab polysomnography and home sleep testing equipment to ensure accurate data capture
• Apply and calibrate electrodes and sensors following accepted standards to guarantee high-quality signals
• Monitor studies in real time, identify and correct artifacts, and document changes to support accurate scoring
• Score polysomnograms and home sleep studies with attention to sleep stages, respiratory events, and arousals
• Support patients with positive airway pressure equipment, perform mask fittings, and provide patient education
• Coordinate home sleep testing logistics and ensure devices are set up, returned, and scored appropriately
• Collaborate with the sleep medicine physician and clinical director to determine final testing parameters

Qualifications

• RPSGT certification required
• RCP and California state license required
• BLS (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with PSG and home sleep study scoring
• Flu vaccination required, no declination or exemption accepted
• Comfortable with a 1:2 patient ratio on night shifts
• EEG certification preferred
• First-time travelers welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited sleep technology program or allied health training preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Polysomnography and PSG scoring expertise
• Home Sleep Testing (HSAT) setup and scoring
• PAP support including CPAP, BiPAP, VPAP and ASV titration familiarity
• Electrode application, calibration, and artifact identification
• Experience with Alice, ResMed, and Respironics equipment
• End-Tidal CO2 monitoring and pulse oximetry understanding
• Strong patient education and infection control practices
• Accurate documentation and familiarity with charting systems such as Epic
