Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients using evidence-based orthopedic assessment techniques and develop individualized plans of care
- Deliver hands-on and therapeutic interventions including gait training, manual therapy, and modality use (TENS) to restore function
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic and other required systems (OASIS where applicable) to ensure continuity of care
- Perform wound and ulcer assessment and management when indicated, and coordinate referrals as needed
- Conduct Functional Capacity Examinations (FCE) and progressive discharge planning to support safe transitions
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and injury prevention to empower long-term recovery
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and maintain 1:1 patient ratios
Qualifications
- State licensed Physical Therapist (TX license required upon hire or ability to obtain)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical PT experience; 2 years preferred (no first-timer applicants)
- Travel therapy experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Proficiency with Epic charting and documentation systems
- Experience with orthopedic outpatient caseloads, modalities (TENS), and FCEs
- Ability to work block schedules and maintain strong time management
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of orthopedic diagnoses, total joint care, fractures, tendinopathies and TMJ
- Skilled in assessment, plan of care development, reassessments and discharge planning
- Familiarity with billing and payer types including Medicare A/B, Medicaid, commercial and workers' comp
- Competence with mobility devices: walkers, crutches, wheelchairs and adaptive equipment assessments
- Proven patient/family education and safety/injury prevention skills
- Comfort using modalities such as TENS and implementing home exercise programs
