Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate adult and geriatric patients across acute, medical, ICU and inpatient rehab settings to create meaningful treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions that improve patient function and independence
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and rehab team members to coordinate care and ensure continuity
• Manage caseload efficiently to meet productivity expectations (typically 9-11 patients/day) while maintaining quality
• Float between units as needed, providing flexible coverage and stepping in where patient needs arise
• Document assessments and progress clearly and professionally using Epic charting
• Coach patients and families on safe functional activities and discharge recommendations

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience (acute care experience required)
• Experience in acute care; inpatient rehabilitation experience is a strong plus
• Comfort floating between units including ICU, medical/surgical and inpatient rehab
• Proven time management skills and the ability to keep a busy schedule full
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interdisciplinary teamwork
• Familiarity with Epic charting preferred
• Able to evaluate and treat a broad range of diagnoses (multi-trauma, SCI, CVA, ortho, neuro conditions)

Knowledge & Skills

• Occupational Therapy evaluation and treatment planning in acute and inpatient rehab settings
• Functional splints, orthoplast and static splinting techniques
• Edema massage and kinesiotaping modalities
• Prosthetics/orthotics familiarity
• Ability to manage 9-11 patients per day while maintaining quality care
• Strong teamwork, adaptability and independent problem-solving
