Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality peri-procedural nursing care for diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures
• Prepare patients and equipment for cardiac catheterization, PCI, pacemaker insertion and IABP/Impella procedures
• Monitor procedural sedation, hemodynamics and dysrhythmias; intervene promptly and escalate when needed
• Administer and manage IV therapy, blood products, antiarrhythmics, IV vasopressors and thrombolytics per protocols
• Perform sheath removal, vascular closure device care (Perclose, StarClose) and post-procedure monitoring
• Accurately document patient care and procedures in Epic to ensure continuity and compliance
• Collaborate with physicians, technologists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide dependable coverage for weekends as scheduled

Qualifications

• ARRT (required)
• Fluoro permit (required) — candidates with a pending fluoro permit will be considered if application submitted at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant Cath Lab / cardiac interventional nursing experience
• Familiarity with Epic charting (preferred)
• Ability to work required weekends and take assigned call
• RCIS-only candidates not acceptable

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac cath lab procedures including diagnostic cath, PCI and peripheral interventions
• Left and right heart catheterizations, pacemaker insertion and IABP/Impella support
• Monitoring procedural sedation and interpreting 12-lead ECGs
• Sheath removal and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
• IV therapy, blood product administration and emergency medication management
• Radiation and laser safety practices and fluoro environment workflow
• Ability to work in Diagnostic Cath, EP lab and hybrid OR settings
