Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care to critically ill adult and pediatric patients in the ICU
• Manage ventilators and advanced airway support while titrating therapies per protocol
• Document all care accurately and promptly in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float between like units as needed to meet facility needs while maintaining high standards of care
• Respond to emergencies and participate in unit-based rapid responses
• Adhere to facility policies for holiday and weekend coverage and support staffing requirements

Qualifications

• Active RRT credential required (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (critical care/ICU experience preferred)
• Comfortable and experienced caring for both pediatric and adult ICU patients
• Familiarity with Epic charting (experience documenting in Epic preferred)
• Willingness to work nights, holidays and every-other-weekend schedule
• Ability to float within scope to like units and collaborate across teams

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator and airway management skills
• Critical care and pediatric respiratory therapy knowledge
• Proficient Epic documentation skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Sound clinical judgment and the ability to perform under pressure
• Familiarity with hospital policies for holiday/shift coverage and call makeup requirements
