Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pediatric speech-language evaluations using tools like CELF, PLS-4, and Rossetti to create meaningful care plans
- Provide individualized treatment for children with autism, developmental delays, fluency and language disorders
- Use EPIC for accurate, timely documentation, billing, and plan of care management
- Implement and train families on alternative and augmentative communication devices and communication boards
- Deliver family-centered education to caregivers to ensure carryover and meaningful progress
- Collaborate with physical therapy, interpretation services, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Perform reassessments, discharge planning, and concurrent therapy documentation per Medicaid and facility requirements
- Maintain patient safety vigilance and document signs and symptoms of physical, sexual, or psychological abuse
Qualifications
- Current State license (or eligible) in Washington preferred
- CCC-SLP credential required
- BLS certification required
- Experience in pediatric outpatient settings and comfort working with children on the autism spectrum
- Experience using EPIC required for documentation
- Travel experience required; must not be a first-time traveler and must have been separated from permanent employment at another Providence facility for at least 3 months if applicable
- Ability to manage approximately 8 visits per day in an outpatient pediatric clinic with 1:1 patient ratios
- Independent, motivated clinician who can work with minimal onsite support
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with EPIC documentation and SLP evaluation coding
- Skilled with AAC devices, communication boards, and augmentative communication strategies
- Familiarity with pediatric assessment tools: CELF, PLS-4, Rossetti, and non-evaluative screening tools
- Knowledge of Medicaid billing, plan of care development, concurrent therapy documentation, and reassessments
- Experience addressing neurodevelopmental challenges including autism, developmental delay, stuttering, articulation disorders, ADHD, and behavioral challenges
- Preferred knowledge in dysphagia management, bedside swallow evaluation, and modified barium swallow interpretation
- Strong patient and family education skills and awareness of abuse indicators and patient safety protocols
