Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and screening mammography procedures, including 3-D mammography, producing high-quality diagnostic images
• Assist physicians with special procedures such as stereotactic biopsy, fine needle aspiration, and needle localization
• Carry out mandated quality control activities under MQSA and FDA guidelines to ensure patient safety and image excellence
• Position and comfort patients of all ages (adolescents, adults, geriatrics) with compassion and professionalism
• Maintain and operate mammography and processing equipment, troubleshooting basic issues and reporting concerns
• Collaborate with the radiology team to support high-volume outpatient workflows and efficient patient throughput
• Participate in cross-campus floating as needed to support coverage and continuity of care

Qualifications

• ARRT (registry) required; candidates with pending license considered
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of mammography experience required; 2 years of full-time mammography experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable performing diagnostic and screening mammograms and related procedures (stereotactic biopsy, FNAs, needle localization)
• Willingness to float to other campuses and adapt to different outpatient settings

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in 3-D mammography, diagnostic and screening mammograms
• Experience with stereotactic biopsy, fine needle aspiration, and needle localization procedures
• Working knowledge of mammography QC (MQSA) and FDA requirements
• Familiarity with x-ray equipment, processing units, and radiographic exposure techniques
• Strong patient positioning skills and compassionate patient interaction
• Ability to work in a high-volume outpatient breast imaging environment
