Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic CT and radiographic exams with care and precision
- Operate fluoroscopic equipment safely and effectively while following state fluoroscopy permit requirements
- Prepare patients for imaging, obtain venous access for contrast injections when needed, and monitor patient safety
- Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations and facility policies at all times
- Document exams accurately in the electronic medical record and assist with image management (PACS)
- Maintain and troubleshoot mobile and stationary radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment, escalating issues as needed
- Participate in competency testing, quality improvement activities, and departmental checklists to maintain excellence
Qualifications
- State Licensure as required by Texas (must hold appropriate state radiography license)
- Fluoroscopy permit required by state regulations
- ARRT (R) certification and CT ARRT certification required
- Current BCLS (AHA) / BLS required
- Venipuncture certificate and proven ability to start IVs for contrast injections
- At least one year of acute clinical radiology experience preferred
- Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings (drug test, color-blind test, TB, immunizations)
Education
- Graduate of a program accredited by JRCERT
Knowledge & Skills
- Extensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Proficient computer skills for imaging documentation and PACS
- Experience with mobile and stationary radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment
- Familiarity with State and Federal regulatory requirements for imaging
- Strong patient care and communication skills, especially for peri-procedural monitoring
