Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour nights); schedule includes night shifts and every third weekend on call (12 hours of call per 4-week schedule)

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, one-to-one labor support and high-quality maternal care during labor and delivery
- Monitor fetal and maternal status using GE fetal monitors and AWHONN fetal monitoring standards
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and support surgical teams during C-sections
- Deliver comprehensive newborn and postpartum care, ensuring safe transitions to the nursery or home
- Document patient care accurately in the Meditech/CPN EMR and communicate changes in condition promptly
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including OB techs, nursery staff, and leadership to optimize patient outcomes
- Respond to obstetric emergencies with composure and evidence-based interventions
Qualifications
- Active RN license eligible for practice in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of labor & delivery experience (required)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP required
- AWHONN fetal monitoring certification required
- Experience in LDRP settings and high birth-volume units preferred
- Familiarity with Meditech/CPN EMR systems preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong fetal monitoring interpretation and AWHONN-based skills
- Comfort with labor management, vaginal deliveries and cesarean section assistance
- Newborn assessment and postpartum nursing care expertise
- Ability to work 1:1 in labor and manage postpartum/nursery ratios effectively
- Competence with Meditech/CPN EMR charting
- Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity maternal-infant settings
