Roles & Responsibilities
- Circulate procedures in the cardiac cath lab to ensure smooth, safe operations
- Monitor patients continuously during cases and throughout pre/post procedure recovery
- Prepare patients and the procedure room, ensuring equipment (EPIC/GE Hemo) is ready and functioning
- Provide moderate sedation support and vigilant post-procedure assessment
- Collaborate with cardiologists, techs, and the multidisciplinary team for exceptional patient care
- Respond promptly to on-call situations (30-minute response expectation) to support emergent needs
- Accurately document care and procedures in EPIC and communicate critical findings
- Float to pre/post procedure areas and back up the Stress Lab as needed
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure (license submission required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (Telemetry or Critical Care experience required/preferred)
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- Procedural cath lab experience and familiarity with moderate sedation
- Comfortable with EPIC charting and GE Hemo equipment
- Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes and participate in rotating call schedule
- Valid driver's license (radius requirements indicated)
Education
- BSN not required (posting indicates BSN not required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong cardiology knowledge (STEMI, heart failure, arrhythmias, peripheral vascular conditions)
- Telemetry monitoring and critical care assessment skills
- Proficiency in cath lab circulation and patient monitoring during invasive procedures
- Skilled in moderate sedation management and post-procedure recovery
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record workflows
- Team communication, situational awareness, and crisis response
